With the Atlantic Ocean to the west and the Irish Sea and Great Britain to the east , <B>Ireland</B> is the third largest European island. Its name "Ireland" is a derivation from the name "Ériu" or "Éire" in todays Irish with the germanic word "land" added.<BR>
5/6 of the island are a souvereign state "Republic of Ireland" with its capital Dublin, the last sith to the norheast is Northern Irland with its capital Belfast. This autonomous region is part of the United Kingdom.
