The "Albergo di Milano", today known as Grand Hotel et de Milan opened its doors in the year 1863 and is housed in a building with neo-gothic characteristics. Till the end of the 19th century it was the only hotel in Milan that offered telegraph and post service and so it was popolar by the business clientele and diplomats. Since its opening the five-star Grand Hotel et de Milan it has been accommodate international and national guests, like Luchino Visconti, Rudolf Nureyev, Maria Calls, Enrico Caruso , Ernest Hemingway and many others. Giuseppe Verdi, a world-famous composer of operas, stayed for several years at this hotel and one of the suites are named after Giuseppe Verdi. Recently the hotel has been completely refurbished and now it combines modern comfort with traditional character.

  • The Deluxe Rooms have a size of 28 squaremetres (300 square feet) and the are either equipped with one king-size bed or two twin size beds. These rooms are decorated with Italian fabrics.   • The luxurious Suite Giuseppe Verdi is eleganty appointed and decorated with fine Italien fabrics. This suite constists of one bedroom, living room and luxurious marble bathroom and is equipped with Wifi high speed internet access and overlooks the avenue.

  • The Caruso Restaurant is the ideal setting for business lunches or gourmet meetings during the midday break; the foliage of the square outside affords the bright room a pleasanf aura of a jardin d'hiver. It is possible to dine outdoors during the warm mounth.
  • The Don Carlos Restaurant is named after the world-famous opera from Giuseppe Verdi, who was for several years guest of the Grand Hotel. The Don Carlos Restaurant offers fine international cuisine and regional and Italian specialities in an elegant and cosy setting with pictures, decor and sketches from the museum of La Scala and it is one of the the most exclusive restaurants in Milan.
  • The Falstaff Bar is a refined and elegant drawing-room, cosy and welcoming and it is a ideal spot for an aperitif, a quick snack or the rich sunday brunch.
