In the year 1697, shortly after the second Turkish siege of Vienna, Prince Heinrich von-Mansfeld-Fondi commissioned Lucas von Hildebrandt to build a baroque palace with an orangerie and formal Gardens. In 1716 Prince Adam Franz zu Schwarzenberg acquires the uncompleted work with all its surrounding grounds and assigns Johann Bernhard Fischer v.Erbach with the resumption of the Palais and its pleasure gardens.
In the year 1962 opening of an exclusive Bed & breakfast and in 1968 a bar and a restaurant are added. 1984 the Sala Terrena and parts of the restaurant are renovated by the famous Viennese architect Hermann Czech as well as total renovation of all guestrooms and the palais.

Guestrooms & Suites : The Hotel im Palais Schwarzenberg offers 44 guestrooms and suites, all are individually decorated, mostly with period furniture and original paintings. Located in the hotel building's left wing, the park suites and rooms offer magnificent views of the lush private gardens of the Palais Schwarzenberg Hotel. All rooms and suites are equipped with bathroom, minibar, cable TV, radio, CD player, video, direct dial telephone and air-conditioning.

Designed in contemporary style by Paolo Piva, a well-known architect, the luxury park rooms and park suites blend pefectly with the baroque garden palais' traditional ambience: Elegant parquet floors made of South African timber wood, walls formed in Marmorino, glittering lamps made of Murano glass, and Wittmann leather furniture are going very well with the 3 centuries old exterior. The suites decor is completed by original artwork of masters of modern art.

Cuisine & Cocktails : The Terrace Restaurant at the Palais Schwarzenberg, famous for its wonderful view onto the private park, serves a combination of classical FRench ans Austrian cuisine, completed by an impressive wine selection.
The Roter Salon offers traditional Viennese and international specialities.
The cosy and elegant Palais Bar offers a rich sortiment of liquors, wines and cochtails, and snacks and bar food.
Enjoy in summer time the view onto the gardens with coffee and cakes, cocktails and snacks on the Coffee Terrace.
Tea, coffee and famous Viennese pastries are served besides hot and cold bar food, wines and cocktails in the Kaminzimmer, in winter time in front of the open log fire.
The hotel's private wine cellar is well-stocked with highly acclaimed domestic wines as well as with an outstandingselection of rare Bordeaux vintages.
