Hotel im Palais Schwarzenberg / 9, Schwarzenbergplatz / Vienna, 1030 / Austria. In the year 1697, shortly after the second Turkish siege of Vienna, Prince Heinrich von-Mansfeld-Fondi commissioned Lucas von Hildebrandt to build a baroque palace with an orangerie and formal Gardens. In 1716 Prince Adam Franz zu Schwarzenberg acquires the uncompleted work with all its surrounding grounds and assigns Johann Bernhard Fischer v.Erbach with the resumption of the Palais and its pleasure gardens. In the year 1962 opening of an exclusive Bed & breakfast and in 1968 a bar and a restaurant are added. 1984 the Sala Terrena and parts of the restaurant are renovated by the famous Viennese architect Hermann Czech as well as total renovation of all guestrooms and the palais.
