Villa Borghese is a magnificent landscape garden in the style of an English garden in Rome with several buildings, mueseums, such as the Galleria Borghese, and attractions. The villa and the huge park, with as size of 148 acres, was originally the sommer residence of the noble family Borghese. In 1605, Cardinal Scipione Borghese, a nephew of Pope Paul V, began turning this former vineyard into the most extensive gardens built in Rome since the antiquity. The gardens are the second largest public park in Rome after the Villa Doria Pamphili.
