The district Berlin Mitte is situated in the East Berlin and encompasses the historic core of Berlin with some of the most importatnt sights of the city like Brandenburg Gate, Museum Island, the famous boulevard "Unter den Linden", the Humboldt University , the Television Tower and the Reichstag Building.
