Tradition combined with luxury, cordial staff and perfect service, taste and style, this and lots more is what guests may expect in plenty if staying at Hotel Sacher Vienna. The "Sacher" is as much part of Vienna as the Ferries Wheel at the Prater, the State Opera, the Lipizzaner Horsesand the Fiaker.
The long and rich history of the "Sacher" started in 1832 when Franz Sacher created the sweet secret, the Original Sacher-Torte. Than in 1866 his son Eduard Sacher opened the restaurant Sacher and 10 years later the Hotel de l'Opera. Because the name Sacher was so famed, he renamed his hotel a short time later to Hotel Sacher. After the death in 1930 of his widdow, the famous Anna Sacher, the hotel was taken over by the families Gürtler and Siller in 1934. And still today this world-famous hotel is run by the Gürtler family. The team is always making its best efforts to meet all the expectations placed in the Hotel Sacher with its great tradition. It is still today a favorite meeting place for the city's high society, artists and politicans - and not only in Vienna but also at Hotel Sacher Salzburg !
