The Hotel InterContinental Rio has three tennis courts, a seaside jogging and cycling path, gymnasium and Turkish bath. The Fitness Centre consists of a modern gymnasium, located on the lower ground floor, that is fully equipped with treadmills, exercise bike and weights. A professional trainer is on hand for advice and instruction. After your workout, relax in the sauna or with a massage. The hotel has a Tennis Centre with three floodlit clay tennis courts, coaches, ball boys and full equipment hire. The hotel offers three different swimming pools to guests: a children's pool located on the upper terrace, a waterfall pool and the main pool.
The Hotel InterContinental Rio is adjacent to the beautiful Gávea Golf and Country Club, which hosts the Brazilian Open. This championship golf course is challenging. The first nine holes, which meander through the rich, jungle-like Tijuca Forest, call for straight and intelligent shot-making. Long and accurate shots are required on the back nine where the course skirts the beautiful São Conrado Beach. Tournaments and lessons are easily arranged.
