This wellness resort is offering 17 indoor treatment rooms and 2 outdoor treatment cabanas, the full-service spa and fitness centre measures 3,011 squaremetres (32,406 square feet). A secluded, tranquil garden peacefully anchors the Resort's wellness program. Homeopathic spa therapies, using natural salts extracted from local salt beds and indigenous herbs, flowers and oils, relax the body and activate its natural healing processes.
Specialised treatments are also available for younger guests. The Teen Spa Lounge, located on the second floor of the main spa building, is a relaxing oasis for teens aged 13 to 17 and offers a selection of services tailored to meet their specific needs. The Starfish Salon treats 5 to 12 year olds to pampering and fun.
The Quiet Pool is located close to the beach, providing a haven for guests who want to relax poolside in a quiet and secluded area. This is a step-entry pool. The free-form Active Pool is the centrepiece of the Resort, surrounded by attractive tropical landscaping, furnishings and the poolside Sea Breeze Grill. Poolside beverage service is available. Attendants provide guests with iced water, cold towels and refreshing chilled spritz. The Turtle Pond is a shallow, sloped children's pool, located within the Kids For All Seasons centre.
The Fitness Club offers a wide range of cardiovascular equipment, including Cybex stations, treadmills, elliptical crosstrainers and free weights. All cardiovascular exercise stations are equipped with mounted personal television sets, and fitness attendants are always on hand to assist. A variety of high- and low-impact aerobics classes are offered, as well as organised outdoor runs and walks.
Four Seasons Golf Club Great Exuma at Emerald Bay is a championship 18-hole golf course designed by golf legend, Greg Norman. Set to become one of the world's greatest ocean-side clubs, the course uses an environmentally friendly seashore paspalum grass, which offers a lush, deep green canopy. Nestled in a series of dramatic fairways along the oceanfront that wind through seaside dunes, the course finishes on a rocky peninsula with a spectacular view of the ocean. Managed by world-renowned Peter Burwash International, the Resort's tennis facilities offer six Har-Tru courts. Har-Tru is a preferred clay-like surface manufactured from crushed green and gray stone to create an exceptional playing experience. Tennis courts are lit for night play. Equipment is available at the pro shop, where lessons can also be arranged.
To make the most of the beautiful surroundings, Four Seasons offers a wide choice of water sports and seafaring activities, from private charter sailing and catamaran cruises complete with food and beverage service and crew, to expert instruction in snorkelling, windsurfing and kayaking. Guests have complimentary use of all non-motorised water-sports equipment or may simply choose to laze on the powdery-soft sand beach of Emerald Bay.
In 2005, the Four Seasons Resort Great Exuma will boast a new 7-hectare (17-acre) deep-water marina that can moor up to 100 ocean-going yachts, several up to 60 metres (200 feet) in length, as well as the Resort's fleet of watercraft for charters and day excursions.
