The renowned European sports region of Kaprun / Zell am See is at its best in the autumn and in particular in the winter. The highlight and "dream come true" for all skiing and snowboarding fans is the Kitzsteinhorn, whose glacier offers fun all year-round. Snowboarders can find a paradise for their jumps and leaps on the glacier and the "Schmittenhöhe" (the local mountain of Zell am See). 60 chair lifts and 130 kilometres of ski runs entice both skiers and snowboarders to enjoy downhill runs at breakneck speeds.
Thanks to the new cable railway, there is once again a fast and comfortable link to the Alpine Centre at 2,450 metres. From the autumn on, the Kitzsteinhorn snow-making equipment ensures good skiing from Langwiedboden to the glacier at 2,900 metres. This means permanent, top-quality slopes and a run down to the Alpine Centre even in the autumn.
Alpine skiing is not the only sport that is in high demand. The "Pinzgauer Langlaufparadies" (cross-country skiing) is also located just a few steps away from our hotel (500 metres away). Figure skaters can perform their pirouettes on the frozen "Zeller See" (Lake Zell), and ice sailors and curlers can enjoy themselves on this lake as well. For those of you who just like to take walks, there are plenty of cleared winter hiking trails - for example in the "Hohe Tauern" Nature Park. And how about taking a walk by torchlight under the stars?
Tennis, golf, horseback riding and windsurfing are available nearby.
