Castello Dal Pozzo, Via dal Pozzo 24, 28040 Oleggio Castello, Lake Maggiore, Piedmont, Italy. Oleggio Castello is a little village in the Italian province of Novara in the region Piedmont only few kilometres away from the Lake Maggiore. The Lake Maggiore (Italian: Lago Maggiore) is one of the northern Italian lakes and is the second largest Italian lake with a size of 212 square kilometres after Lake Garda. This lake is about 66 kilometres long and a with of up to 10 kilometres. The Lake Maggiore is located in the Italian regions of Piedmont and Lombardy and in the Swiss canton of Ticino and he came into existence like the other lakes of northern Italy during the melting of glaciers from the Ice Age. The lake stretches from the Southern Alps to the valley of river Po. The main inflow and also the main outflow is the river Ticino flowing in Switzerland by Magadino into the lake leaves the lake on the Italian side at Sesto Calende. The climate is mild in both summer and winter with Mediterranean vegetation, such as beautiful parks and gardens with rare and exotic plants and flowers. The most famous villages on the Swiss side are Locarno and Ascona. The largest town on the Italian shore is Verbania, which was formed formed in 1939 by the fusion of the cities of Pallanza and Intra. South of Verbania the Lake Maggiore expanding to the Gulf of Verbania.Stresa, a romantic and picturesque village with the charm of a noble health resort with beautiful parks, elegant hotels and villas from the Belle Epoque, is located on the Gulf of Verbania. The park of Villa Pallavicino with stunning views over Lake Maggiore and its zoological and botanical garden is very popular. Between Verbania and Stresa in the Gulf of Verbania the four Borromean Islands are located. The largest of these islands is the Isola Madre with English-style gardens. The most famous and second largest island is Isola Bella. This island is a popular touristic destination on Lake Maggiore and a museum wíth magnificent tapestries and a shell grotto is housed in the palace. On the Isola dei Pescatoti a small fishing village is located. The smallest island, Isolino di San Giovanni, is privately owned and is not open to visitors.
