The Fairmont Hamilton Princess Hotel, 76 Pittsbay Road, Hamilton HM08 / Bermuda.
Bermuda lies 570 miles from the coast of North Carolina and is surrounded by the blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean. With a landmass of only 21 square miles, it is one of the smallest territories in the world. Bermuda is actually an archipelago consisting of around 140 islands. Eight of these (Ireland Island North, Ireland Island South, Boaz Island, Watford Island, Somerset Island, Bermuda Island, St George's Island and St David's Island) are linked by bridges to form a continuous fishhook shaped area of land, 22 miles in length and only 2 miles across at its widest point. This is the Bermuda which most locals and guests are familiar with; many of the other islands are uninhabited or mere rocks.
Since 1968 Bermudas is a parliamentary British overseas territory with internal self-government. The capital of Bermuda is Hamilton, a little but vibrant city with Hamilton Harbour at the eastern end of the Great Sound, an arm of the Atlantic Ocean. The harbor town of Hamilton is an elegant citadel of old world splendour where British colonial influences provide an unmistakable character.

Fondly referred to by Bermudians as "The Pink Palace", The Fairmont Hamilton Princess opened its doors on January 1, 1885. Bermuda had gained international recognition two years earlier in 1883 when Princess Louise, the fourth daughter of Queen Victoria, visited for a winter retreat and called it "a place of eternal spring". From the moment it opened, The Fairmont Hamilton Princess was considered the gem of the island. With long shady verandas and a blue slate roof, the four-story building comprised 70 rooms, each equipped with gas lights, hot and cold running water and a five-inch mirror to allow guests to primp before stepping out for the night.
Among the hibiscus and oleander, on the shores of a picturesque natural harbor, The Fairmont Hamilton Princess Hotel is an elegant tribute to the old world splendour that is Bermuda. Take a dip in your choice of fresh or saltwater pool, catch the complimentary ferry over to the private Fairmont Beach Club in Southampton.
