The Jasper National Park is located on a plateau on 1,062 metres above sea level in the Athabasca Valley surrounded by cristal clear mountain lakes, thundering waterfalls, evergreen forests, snow-caped mountain peaks and deep canyons and is the home of black and grizzly bears, elks, mountain caribou and wolves. The luxurious and elegant Fairmont Hotel Jaspers Park Lodge is situated on the shores of the beautiful Lake Beauvert in the Canadian Rocky Mountains surrounded by glittering alpine lakes and snow-caped mountain peaks and offers rustic elegance and charming cabins. Guests can enjoy tranquility, peace and natural beauty. The history of Jasper Park Loodge began in the year 1915 in association the Grand Truck Pacific Railway. In 1922 eight bungalows were built for guests and some of these original magnificent lodges still stand today. The first main building was built 1923 and it was destroyed by fire in 1952. In the following year the new main building fo Jasper Park Lodge has been completed. The world-famous golf course was designed by the master architect Stanley Thompson in the 1920s.
