The Tuileries Garden (French: Jardin des Tuileries) is a former garden of a royal residence in Paris. The garden runs from the Museum Louvre in the east to the Place de la Concorde in the west. In the south the garden is bounded by the right bank of river seine and in the north by the Rue de Rivoli. This park has been created by the French queen Catherine de Medici, coming from Italy, in the style of the Italian renaissance und remodelled under Louis XIV from the landscape architect André de Nôtre. in French style. In the beginning of the 21st century, French landscape architects Pascal Cribier and Louis Benech have been working to restore some of the early features of the garden André Le Nôtre.
The Place Vendôme is one the five royal squares in Paris. This square is located in the 1st arrondissement to the north of the Tuileries Gardens and east of the Église de la Madeleine and the square is the starting point of the Rue de la Pais. This square has been designed by the architect Jules Hardouin-Masart. Napoleon erected the original column, modelled after Trajan's Column, to celebrate the victory of Austerlitz; its veneer of 425 spiraling bas-relief bronze plates were made out of cannon taken from the combined armies of Europe. The Place Vendôme has been renown for its fashionable and deluxe hotels - The Ritz, the Park Hyatt Vendôme, and the Bristol, which Edward VII preferred, now called the "Vendôme".
