Valpolicella is a viticultural area in the province of Verona in the region of Venetian, in the area of Mount Lessini east of Lake Garda and north of Verona. This wine-growing region, surrounded by a beautiful hilly landscape, is characterized by a most mild climate that is influenced by the close Lake Garda to the west and the Adriatic Sea to the southeast.

The Byblos Art Hotel Villa Amista is situated in a splendid villa of the 16th century, which is inspired by the tradition of the venetian region and hosts an impressive permanent exhibition of contemporary art. Michele Sanmicheli, a Venetian architect from the 16th century, has designed the central part of the villa in a Venetian style on the ruins of a Roman mansion. The current building, a work of the architect Ignazio Pellegrini, dates back to the 18th century. Inside the villa paintings and original works of art finds of both periods can be admired after careful renovations. Villa Amista is a combination of historic and contemporary pieces of furniture, resulting from the inventiveness of the well-know designer Alessandro Mendini, and with several artworks by world-famous artists and designers, such as Ron Arad, Philippe Starck, Marcel Wander, Ettore Sottsass, Eero Saarinen, Eero Aamio and many more, that have made the villa a real museum of contemporary art and design. Byblos Casa connects the contemporary style of Byblos fashion label, which means colors, glamour prints and an innovative use of fabrics patchworks, together with the creative skills of atelier Mendini, which also includes the contribute of other important designers like Anna Gilli, Bruno Gregori, Margarini-Morra, Beatriz Millar.
The beautiful park has a size of 20,000 squaremetres and is decorated with fountains made from Verona marble and an infinity edge pool with sundeck. In the Italian garden, in its interpretation that was popular in the eighteenth century, there are magnificent exotic plants, trees and flowes.
